Holiday stay in Hemelum: Holiday house “Friese Meren”. Beautifully rural and peaceful 4 – 6 person house of a farmhouse in the Frisian Lake area. This tidy holiday house has recently been completely renovated and fitted with all conveniences. The holiday house is pleasantly decorated, has a beautiful kitchen, spacious living room, a neat fresh bathroom and 3 bedrooms. There is a garden, terrace with garden furniture and parking space for your car and a cycling path right outside your door. From the holiday house you’ve got a beautiful view on the Frisian farm lands. The Frisian village Warns is 2 kilometers away and has a great café and a restaurant in the harbor by the water. In Hemelum you can rent boats to explore the Frisian waters. In the characteristic Frisian village Molkwerum you can visit a nice bakery museum. In the old harbor of Stavoren, 5 kilometers (cycling distance) from your holiday home, you can find “the lady of Stavoren”; the symbol of the medieval saga of the mysterious downfall of Stavoren after a rich history. Stavoren has a wonderful sandy beach at the coast of the IJsselmeer. The area of Hemelum is especially suitable for water sport enthusiasts, hikers, cyclists and nature lovers. From Hemelum, you can make pleasant trips to one of the 11 cities of the Elfstedentocht (Eleven cities tour) such as Workum, Hindeloopen or Sneek. On a nice day, it is definitely worthwhile to take a boat trip to Enkhuizen (Zuiderzee museum, Sprookjesbos), to go cycling through the Gaasterlandse forest or relax on one of the beautiful beaches. When it is less sunny, you could visit the Jopie Huisman museum in Workum or the Frisian Schaatsmuseum (ice-skating museum) in Hindeloopen. In this holiday house, you can enjoy a few free days or your holiday (also in the winter).
