Gaasterland , 2-10 persons. Holiday accommodation “Forrest and Water”. This traditional Dutch farmhouse built in the shape of a cheese-cover is located just outside the Frisian village Balk (Ruigahuizen). It is an atmospheric spacious accommodation. In the former milk cellar you will find a lovely living room and the upstairs room has become a romantic bedroom. The traditional collar beams and a cow’s window haven been preserved fortunately. Much wood has been used which brings a warm atmosphere. Lovely beds, a modern kitchen with various built-in equipment and a spacious luxurious bathroom make this accommodation a very complete holiday accommodation. The total floor area of the holiday accommodation is 170m2. Outside there is a spacious and yet cosy terrace, in front of the farm you will find a lawn with playground equipment and of course you can park your car here. Across the farm you can go fishing at the Luts or you can discover this watery area with a canoe. Gaasterland is one of the few culture landscapes of the Netherlands. It has a light-slanted landscape with woods, lakes and beautiful meadows. You can go cycling or walking through the woods or along the lakes over the cycle tracks and silent by-roads. The smallest little city Sloten offers many sights (old fortifications, nice mill) and is nearby Balk (only a few kilometers). The other cities of the Frisian 11 cities like Workum (Jopie Huisman Museum) or Hindelopen (Skate Museum) or Stavoren are definitely worth visiting. The village Balk with its beautiful town hall and the many nice fronts offers many facilities like: supermarket, baker, butcher, restaurants, pubs, bike and boat rental, churches, banks and a nice beach at the Slotermeer (lake).Pets are not allowed in this accommodation. It is a lovely spacious holiday accommodation suitable for 2-10 persons in one of the most beautiful areas of Friesland. An unique experience. In the summerholidays just from Monday to Monday.
